Soon after my failed
proposal to Elizabeth I had more success with Miss Charlotte Lucas,
daughter of Sir William Lucas. We married a few weeks ago and are now
living comfortably at Hunsford. Charlotte seems as happy as I am to
be living here together. We frequently visit Lady Catherine at
Rosings, so we are always in good company. I have not spoken to the
Bennet family since my visit there, although Charlotte maintains
contact with Elizabeth, who might stay with us soon. I hope to
maintain a civil relationship with the family to ease the future
takeover of Longbourn.
